One generation time, space and art perception. All of that will be seen for one week – December 12 to 20 – in Latvian Academy of Art student exhibition XCII, in RIXC Gallery, 11. novembra krastmala 35 (entrance form Ministerejas street).

Exhibition XCII is created as short term, one week, art action, which is giving small look into space and time of 10 its participants. Name of exhibition, which notes affiliation of new artists to specific generation and decade, is accenting time as uniting element. While space gives a place, where each personal theme and vision can occur.

Art always creates specific bond with surrounding environment and time, creating interplay and dialogue between them. Participants of exhibition offers their look to centuries developments, and each of them, in works created specially for exhibition, revealed theme, that are important for them. Techniques of exhibited works are also, as interests of artists, versatile and different – exhibition represents paintings, graphic, as well as different new media art works, installations and videos.

This is first exhibition created by this group of artists. Marta Dūdiņa, Rolands Briedis, Katrīna Čemme, Monta Apsāne, Jānis Klaučs, Aksels Bruks, Mareks Kolāts, Elza Niedre, Mikus Straumēns and Elīna Plūme are artists with related vision. It reveals in mutual creative cooperation, consciousness about of a common environment and contemporaries, as well as united start point – time. Short, bright, and unique idea flow of new generation artists.

Exhibition XCII opening is taking place December 12, 7pm, RIXC Gallery, 11. novembra krastmala 35 (entrance from Minsterejas street).
