On January 28, 2020, at OCAD University (Toronto, Canada) RIXC artists Rasa Smite and Raitis Smits gave a public lecture ”Visualizing the Poetics of Green Energy”. Both artists introduced the audience with their artistic activities, collaboration with scientists and their artwork “Swamp Radio” that is currently exhibited at the exhibition ALARM at THEMUSEUM Kitchener / Waterloo (Canada).

Rasa Smite and Raitis Smits are media artists, cultural innovators, curators and educators working across-disciplines and in emerging media. From early experiments with internet radio to more recent “techno-ecological” data-visualisation projects, their work utilizes waves, data and AI, making visible invisible processes in nature and creating a poetics of green energy. Their works have shown in Documenta and they have been awarded the Prix Ars Electronica. Rasa Smite and Raitis Smits are currently visitng lecturers ar the MIT Art, Culture and Technology Program in Boston.
