Oleksandr Sirous, Dmytro Tentiuk and Danil Siabro. Decentraland. Unraveling Invasions: A Tri-Stage Odyssey. Visualization.

The Auge2nd project will be concluded by the final event in MEET Digital Culture Center, Milan and online on May 23, 2024. The event will feature a program of keynote lectures and discussions, as well as the green, artistic project idea presentations by RIXC Call for Ideas winners Oleksandr Sirous (UA) and Lauris Smits (LV) who developed ideas based on the challenges explored at the RIXC / Auge2nd artathon: Blockchain, Art and Climate: Challenges for Green & Digital Future.

The event will be also marked by the opening of the Auge Next project final group exhibition taking place at the MEET Digital Culture Center, Milan from May 23-26, 2024, featuring the artworks by the Auge Next fellowship artists who developed new artwork prototypes at the hybrid (online and onsite) hybrid residencies hosted by project partners.

The exhibition will feature the new VR artwork prototype by RIXC / Auge Next fellowship artists Oleksandr Sirous, Dmytro Tentiuk and Danil Siabro (Ukraine) titled Decentraland. Unraveling Invasions: A Tri-Stage Odyssey. The project delves into the theme of 'hidden invasion' by amalgamating data from various sources, including global databases and maps. This research focuses on cultural, ecological, and economic incursions in regions like Latvia, Ukraine, and broader Europe, highlighting the invasive nature of human interaction facilitated by technology. The concept poses the question of whether an omnipresent guardian could predict and defend against such invasions. As global invasion levels fluctuate, so does the behavior of the 'mega-mind,' the supercomputer, altering the reality it seeks to generate.

Central to the experience is a large creature, representing different aspects of hidden invasions. Each part of this creature is cognizant of specific invasion types. The interactive element involves participants disassembling this creature in a game-like format, symbolizing the freeing of the entity and the decentralization of control. This act is a metaphor for the transfer of responsibility from automated systems back to individuals, emphasizing the importance of personal accountability in preserving diversity.

The final event takes place as part of the AUGE 2ND project funded by the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV) of the European Union.

Project partners: MEET (Milan), PAL (Berlin), RIXC (Riga), Espronceda (Barcelona), Laznia (Gdansk).
